WRPS Stop Over 10,600 Vehicles During 2025 Festive R.I.D.E. Campaign

Waterloo Regional Police stopped more than 10,600 vehicles during the 2025 Festive R.I.D.E. campaign, which ran from late November through New Year’s Day.

WRPS laid six impaired-driving related charges, issued four licence suspensions, and handed out dozens of additional traffic and alcohol-related charges. The Ontario Provincial Police also reported over 1,200 impaired charges province-wide during the same period.

Police say enforcement and education efforts will continue to keep Waterloo Region roads safe year-round.
