WRPS Seize Cash and Drugs, Hamilton Man Charged Following Vehicle Parts Investigation

Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) have arrested and charged a 32-year-old Hamilton man following a December 2025 investigation that began with stolen vehicle parts and expanded into suspected drug trafficking activity.

According to WRPS, members of the Street Crime Team launched the investigation after identifying links between stolen auto components and broader criminal activity. As the investigation progressed, officers obtained and executed multiple search warrants in Hamilton, leading to the seizure of vehicle parts, a significant amount of Canadian currency, and suspected controlled substances.

Police say the seized substances are believed to include methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and oxycodone pills. WRPS have not released details regarding the quantities of drugs or the total value of the seized cash and property.

As a result of the investigation, the accused faces three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, along with possession of property obtained by crime for the purpose of trafficking under $5,000. He is also charged with trafficking in stolen goods under $5,000.

The man was arrested without incident and held in custody for a bail hearing. Police have not indicated whether additional suspects are being sought or if further charges are anticipated.

WRPS say investigations involving stolen vehicles and auto parts often uncover connections to other forms of organized crime, including drug trafficking. Police continue to encourage residents to report suspicious activity related to auto theft or trafficking, noting that public information can play an important role in regional investigations that cross municipal boundaries.
