What’s Open and Closed in Waterloo Region on Christmas Day and Boxing Day

Most government services across Waterloo Region will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, with limited operations resuming on Dec. 26.

Regional offices, libraries, museums, public health clinics, and seniors’ services will be closed both days. Garbage collection is cancelled Christmas Day, with pickup delayed by one day.

Warming centres will stay open in Kitchener and Cambridge. In Kitchener, City Hall will be open without in-person services, the Kitchener Market reopens on Boxing Day, and outdoor skating will be available Christmas Day.

Beer Store and LCBO locations close Christmas Day, with select Beer Store locations reopening Boxing Day. Grand River Transit will operate on a holiday schedule.
