Police Seek Suspect in Shoplifting Incidents in Cambridge and Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate two shoplifting incidents that occurred on consecutive days in Cambridge and Kitchener earlier this month.

Police say the incidents are believed to involve the same suspect. The first reported theft happened on January 5 at a business near Franklin Boulevard and Dundas Street South in Cambridge. Investigators allege a woman entered the store, selected several meat products, and left without paying.

The following day, on January 6, police say the suspect entered another business located near Ottawa Street North and River Road East in Kitchener. In this case, the suspect allegedly removed merchandise and exited the store without paying. An employee reportedly confronted the individual outside, and the items were returned before the suspect left the area.

No injuries were reported in either incident. Police have not said whether the businesses suffered financial loss beyond the initial theft attempt.
Waterloo Regional Police are continuing their investigation and are looking to identify and speak with the person involved. A description or image of the suspect has been released as part of the investigation.

Anyone who may have information about these incidents is encouraged to contact Waterloo Regional Police. Anonymous tips can also be provided through Crime Stoppers, where callers may be eligible for a reward.

Police remind the public that investigations are ongoing and that all suspects are presumed innocent unless proven otherwise in court.
