Driver Charged After Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Kitchener Crash

A Kitchener man is facing charges after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Sunday night.
Waterloo Regional Police say the collision occurred around 8:45 p.m. on Dec. 21 at Kingswood Drive and Block Line Road. A Honda SUV struck a 53-year-old pedestrian, sending him to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries.
The driver, a 38-year-old Kitchener resident, was not hurt and has been charged with careless driving causing bodily harm. The intersection was closed for several hours during the investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to contact WRPS or Crime Stoppers.
