Chicopee Ski Hill Enjoys Best Winter Conditions in Years After Early Opening

Chicopee Ski and Summer Resort in Kitchener is seeing its best ski conditions in years after opening early on December 20, 2025. Cold December temperatures and steady snowfall helped build a strong snow base of about 30 cm, allowing the hill to prepare early and maintain trail quality.

CEO Bill Creighton says a blend of natural snow and snowmaking has created durable, high-quality skiing conditions that can handle potential mid-winter warmups. Recent infrastructure upgrades — including new lifts — have kept wait times low despite high visitor numbers.

Chicopee has also introduced new beginner-friendly “Discover Lessons,” offering instruction, rentals, and a future lift ticket. The resort is open daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
